The talk covers the use of Google’s Tesseract Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Engine to convert scans and images of text into machine-encoded text.

One of the libraries used is tesserocr, a Python wrapper for Tesseract API, to achieve OCR the Pythonic way.

WhoPay

This is a project my team and I created during Hack&Roll 2016, a 24-hour hackathon held by NUS. WhoPay is an web application to facilitate bill splitting for group outings or fund pooling.

WhoPay makes use of OCR technology and incorporates a collaborative aspect to quicken the process of bill splitting. Light weight, minimalist and mobile-friendly, WhoPay is easy and intuitive to use.

Animal Revolt!

Awarded Third in the 6th NUS School of Computing Term Project Showcase.

Animal Revolt! is a mixture of first-person and third-person shooter game created using Unity featuring a variety of ammunitions and enemy AI. The game features three playable levels of differing objectives.

Players are challenged by tough enemy AI and the need for resource management due to limited ammunition. With 10 different types of ammunition with different effects, players can choose to complete each level in many creative ways.
